Fourth Grade

Mrs. Mathew

emathew@evdio.org

Mrs. Mathew teaches 4th grade Math, Science, and Religion here at Resurrection. She began her 12th year teaching in 2024 and her second at Resurrection. Prior to joining our staff, she taught 10 years at Holy Rosary.

What's her favorite thing about Resurrection?

"I love my coworkers and students the most!" she said. "My coworkers welcomed me with open arms and are consistently asking how they can be of help to me. I love getting to know all my students, too!"

One of her favorite projects was teaching students about maps and data. The students were tasked with writing directions to help a new student find their way around the school. Once the directions were written, students tested them out.

"It was exciting to see the details they added and how they improved each step once they followed their own directions."

When she's not in school, Mrs. Mathew enjoys camping, hiking, and kayaking. She also loves a good bonfire shared with family and friends.

She is married to her husband, Nick, and together they have a son, Calvin, as well as two dogs (Tucker & Josie) and 5 chickens!

Mrs. Doty

Mrs. Doty teaches 4th grade Language Arts, Social Studies, and Religion at Resurrection. She began her fifth year of teaching in 2024 and her second year here. She taught three years at Annunciation at Holy Spirit before joining our team.

"I love the sense of family and unity here," Mrs. Doty said. "Working at a Catholic school, I feel a sense of community and belonging. I know that if I were to ever need anything, there is always someone there for you."

She really enjoys the Kids in Business projects she does with students in Language Arts class.

"We have visitors stop by our classroom and talk about what they do, and it really impacts students," Mrs. Doty said. "After having our visitors it is exciting to see the small businesses that students come up with. This was a fun project to create."

Fun Fact: Mrs. Doty played basketball for the University of Evansville. When she's not in school, she loves traveling, painting, and reading. She and her husband recently traveled to Ireland, and it stole her heart.

"I am always looking for the next adventure to take," Mrs. Doty said.
