Mrs. Boots teaches preschool here at Resurrection. She has been teaching since 2015, with some breaks when she had her babies. She has experience in kindergarten through 4th grades in the EVSC, and she joined the Resurrection staff in 2019.
Fun fact: Mrs. Boots originally wanted to be an optometrist but changed her major after volunteering in a 1st grade classroom for a student ambassador program.
What does she love most about Resurrection?
"I love that I am able to live out my faith and openly talk about it and God with the students I teach," Mrs. Boots said. "I really appreciate the family involvement within the school. I truly feel as though we are equals in the process of their child's educational growth."
Her favorite class activities are those they do during field day... tie-dying shirts, playing with the parachute, running an obstacle course, and enjoying popsicles.
Outside of school, Mrs. Boots enjoys shopping, crafting, and spending time with her husband and kids. She is married to her husband, Bernie, and they have three sons, Hudson, Beau, and Weller, and twin girls, Maren and Maeve.
Mrs. Herrmann joined us in 2024 as a preschool teacher! She taught kindergarten followed by Pre-K at St. Philip School for six years before spending nine years as a stay-at-home mom.
Mrs. Herrmann has known her life's calling since she was a young girl.
"Growing up as the eleventh of 12 children, I became an aunt at a very young age," she said. "I have always been surrounded by babies, toddlers, and children of all ages, really. I began babysitting at a very young age and have always felt my true gifts coming through when spending time with children. I had wonderful role models and teachers in my life growing up, and said in second or third grade that I wanted to be a teacher and a mom when I grew up."
She noted that it's an honor to teach at the school she, herself, graduated from.
"Resurrection feels like home to me," Mrs. Herrmann said. "I know how dedicated the teachers and staff are here. It is safe to say that their commitment and compassion are unmatched, and I feel truly grateful to be part of such a special school and church family."
Mrs. Herrmann loves getting to know the littlest students at Resurrection and helping them adjust to being at school for the first time. She especially cherishes their morning prayer time, and taking them to the grotto to pray and learn about Mary.
"I love forward to many more special moments with my students," she said.
Outside of school, Mrs. Herrmann loves camping, or just being outside, with her family. She enjoys running and has started getting back into running road races. You can also find her listening to podcasts, audio books, and music, as well as singing (sometimes even at Mass here!).
She and her husband, Jake, have been marring for 15 years, and they have six children - sons, Jeffrey, Noah, Gabriel, and Lucas and daughters, Vera and Josie.
Mrs. Elpers is one of our Pre-K teachers here at Resurrection! She taught 1st grade here years ago and then worked part-time at St. Joe in Vanderburgh County for about 10 years before returning to Resurrection as a Pre-K teacher.
"I love being back!" Mrs. Elpers said. "I attended Catholic schools myself growing up, so I love teaching at a Catholic school. And of course, the staff here makes Resurrection special."
Outside of school, Mrs. Elpers enjoys camping, boating, and going to the beach with her family. She is married with two daughters.
Mrs. Hancock teaches both preschool and Pre-K at Resurrection. She was a stay-at-home mom for 8 years until her youngest started school. Then, she subbed in the EVSC before starting her career as a preschool & Pre-K teacher here in 2023.
She loves being part of a fantastic team of people who value education and lift one another up. She also appreciates the families of students here for their support and help.
"My favorite moments here have been watching when the 'lightbulb' goes off for these littlest Roadrunners or seeing them thoroughly enjoying school," Mrs. Hancock said. "I love helping to encourage morals and values in our students and hearing their sweet little prayers."
When she's not in school, Mrs. Hancock enjoys relaxing at the beach, camping with her kids, and celebrating the milestones, whether they are little or big ones.
She has three children who are Roadrunners as well!
Mrs. Daily is the Daycare Coordinator at Resurrection. She began her fifth year at Resurrection in 2024.
"It is a blessing to be here," Mrs. Daily said. "I love our staff. They are amazing and are always willing to help. I also love being a part of the daycare program. I enjoy being around all the kids at school."
Mrs. Daily said it's a joy spending her days doing activities with the kids and learning new things with them. That they also get to learn about the Catholic faith is an added bonus.
"The students are not only getting the best education at Resurrection, but they are also learning to follow the path of God," she added.
Outside of school, Mrs. Daily enjoys crafting, shopping, and spending time with her grandkids.
